SmartStaff for Zoho, from Spootin, helps you track work time, manage office check-in and check-out, and view weekly progress in Zoho People through a compact popup or an optional floating panel.
SmartStaff uses attendance status, check-in and check-out times, active timer information, today's time logs, and weekly logged hours from Zoho People to display its timer, attendance clock, log controls, and progress ring. These records can contain personal or work-related information associated with your Zoho People account.
This information is processed in your browser to provide the extension's features. SmartStaff does not send it to Spootin or developer-operated servers.
The Time log URL and Week time logs URL you provide identify the Zoho People pages used by the extension. Your daily required hours and working days determine the weekly goal shown in the progress ring. Optional minute buffers affect check-out and time-log actions.
SmartStaff requires you to sign in to Zoho People in Chrome. Refreshing retrieves updated information from Zoho People. Checking in or out, starting or continuing a log, and stopping a log interact with your Zoho People records. These actions can change attendance and work-time information visible to your employer under its Zoho People settings.
Records held in Zoho People remain subject to Zoho's privacy practices and your organization's access and retention policies. Disabling or uninstalling SmartStaff does not delete those records. Contact your organization's Zoho People administrator about access, corrections, or deletion of attendance and time-log records.
Settings include your configured Zoho People URLs, daily required hours, working days, optional minute buffers, and the “Show on every page” preference. You can change these options in Settings and save them, then refresh the extension to update the displayed information.
Extension settings are saved in your browser. Spootin does not hold a server-side copy of your settings, attendance information, or time logs. You can clear saved extension data through your browser's extension storage controls. Records stored by Zoho People are managed separately by Zoho and your organization.
You can turn off the floating panel, restrict site access using Chrome's extension controls, disable the extension, or uninstall it. Restricting access may prevent the timer, attendance controls, or floating panel from working on the affected pages.
SmartStaff does not collect your extension data on Spootin servers, sell it, or send it to advertising or analytics services. Developers do not receive your attendance or time-log information through the extension. Its use of that information is limited to displaying and managing your work time in Zoho People.
Communication with Zoho People is needed to retrieve your records and perform the attendance and time-log actions you choose. Zoho People handles those records under its own policies and your organization's settings.
Access to the configured Zoho People pages supports retrieving work-time information and carrying out attendance and time-log actions. When you enable “Show on every page,” SmartStaff displays a floating panel on pages where Chrome allows the extension to run. You can move the panel by dragging its grip or turn it off in Settings.
The popup and floating panel can show work information on your screen. Keep this in mind when sharing your screen or using a shared computer.
